If you enjoying working with people, have an interest in art, or are looking to lend a hand, then Volunteering at Dulwich Picture Gallery is for you.
There are many kinds of volunteering roles at the Gallery; the majority support the Education Department. Volunteering at the Gallery is a rewarding, enjoyable and sociable experience.
Volunteer Driver Positions
Volunteer Drivers support the Gallery by driving the Artmobile and transporting and returning materials and passengers to off-site art workshop locations.
Volunteer Drivers are managed by the Senior Education Department Manager, but on the day of an event Volunteers are regularly supervised by an Education Programme Manager, Operations staff or creative practitioners.
The time commitment varies, but is flexible with the Driver’s availability and the workshop requirements. Driving may include occasional early mornings, afternoons, or some evenings. Driving is mostly around South London.
If you are interested in getting involved with the education department please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Become a Friends Volunteer
The Friends is a charitable organisation run almost exclusively by volunteers.
We are always pleased to hear from people who’d like to offer their time and skills to us it is enjoyable, sociable and productive work and you will be part of a team with other volunteers.
At present we are looking for support in:
Social networking: the Friends wants to strengthen its Twitter feed and Facebook site
Events: the Friends organise a wide and varied event programme for the Gallery every year. e welcome help with our lecture series, Gallery Music and Gallery Film, family activities, walks and visits and other one off events. These events involve a process from initial planning to helping on the day. You could be involved at any stage.
The Friends’ Desk: Desk sitting in the Gallery’s entrance hall provides the public face of the Friends’ organisation. Volunteers are trained to welcome Friends into the Gallery, sell tickets for Friends' events, answer queries about membership and generally to support the Gallery staff. Usually volunteers commit to a half-day session once a month. If you are interested in helping with the Friends’ Desk, please contact Rita Frost on email@example.com
Behind the scenes: there are over 7000 Friends in membership which provides an administrative challenge! Volunteers help with processing, renewal and queries related to membership. The Friends also organise a mailing of InView magazine three times a year to all members
