Growing up in the inner city can be difficult for many young
people. For over six years Dulwich Picture Gallery has gone out
into the community to lead art workshops for inner-city youth.
These programmes prove that sustained attention, talented teachers
and persistent commitment can deliver spectacular results. The
Education Department is now running more creative sessions than
ever, including: tours and workshops at the gallery; weekly evening
drop-ins and holiday workshops at youth clubs; photography sessions
for those dealing with unemployment; and a variety of
intergenerational partnerships.
