Secondary Education

ks3 - KS5

Bring your Secondary group for an expert session in the Gallery or Art Studio. Working with professional artists and experienced teachers, students have an opportunity to deepen their understanding of visual art in a rigorous workshop tailored specifically to their needs.

  • Themed Tour

Join one of our experienced Gallery Teachers for a tour of the collection.

  • Life Drawing Sessions

Students will work from a nude or clothed model and have an opportunity to study works in the Permanent Collection.

  • Tours and Studio Workshops

Spend a day at the Gallery exploring our current temporary exhibition. Tour the exhibition in small discussion groups with our trained Gallery Teachers. Then experiment with materials, styles and techniques inspired by the works in the exhibition.

  • Architecture tour

Examine the design and context of Sir John Soane’s unique gallery building. Tours are led by Gallery Teachers and focus on the history, design, materials and visual context of the first public art gallery in England.

  • Outreach Sessions

An ideal follow-up to your visit, these workshops offer the best quality of experience after a Gallery session. Practical art projects can link to classroom themes, introduce new skills and techniques or provide portfolio development.
