Friends Autumn Exhibition 2008
One hundred and eight works of flat art submitted by the Friends
were for sale in the main Gallery. These successful entries
were chosen from 444 paintings, photographs, drawings and prints
and are of exceptional quality.
The judging panel consisted of Ian Dejardin,
the Gallery’s director, Rupert Maas, fine art
dealer and Antiques Roadshow specialist, Sacha
Craddock, art critic, teacher and curator, Bettie
Morton, independent curator and formerly of The Bettie
Morton Gallery in Brixton, and Deborah Roslund,
collector.
1st prize of £100 worth of framing donated by
Brockwell Arts Services went to Bill
Henderson for ‘Starlight Thorn Tree
2007’
2nd prize of an easel donated by Art Stationers of
Dulwich Village went to Ignacio Zabala
for 3 works, ‘The Leader of the Pack’, ‘The
Challenge’, and ‘Dream of an
Oxtail’
3rd prize of £50 worth of book vouchers donated by
Village Books of Dulwich Village went to Sally
Cutler for ‘Dulwich Heads’
20 works were commended
All the art is for sale with 30% going to the Friends.
Prices vary from £43 to the thousands.
