Monks Fishing

Sir Francis Bourgeois bequeathed three Rosas to Dulwich, only one of which ('Soldiers Gambling', DPG216) is now accepted as autograph. This fine landscape, however, is clearly in the master?s famous style, with its trademark blasted tree, billowing clouds and tiny figures dwarfed by the grandeur of nature.
