Education

The Education Department is a busy, thriving, exciting office and relies on volunteer help and support from graduate and post-graduate students. Placements offer an insight into how an art gallery works and provides valuable experience for those wishing to pursue a career in the museum and gallery world.

Volunteers commit to working at least 3 days per week for a period of 3 months. They undertake a wide variety of tasks from basic office duties such as photocopying, mailing out and manning the phones, to assisting the running of the schools programme in the Gallery and Sackler Centre for Arts Education. Those who are able to commit for a longer period of time may be given particular projects, such as research, that tie in with their own interests and specialities. Travel expenses are reimbursed.

Development Internships

The Development office is responsible for finding sponsorship for exhibitions, raising money for education initiatives in addition to running two individual membership schemes.

We are currently looking for undergraduate or graduate students to assist in preparing sponsorship proposals, compiling funding applications, research, assist with membership servicing and gift acknowledgement.

Volunteers must have strong communication skills, high level of computer literacy and an interest in pursuing a career in the arts.  

Potential volunteers must be able to commit to a minimum 3 days a week for a 3 month period. The position is unpaid although travel expenses will be reimbursed.
