Baroque, but not as you know it! For this contemporary reimagining of the Old Masters in our Collection, we’ll be interpreting Baroque in new ways through music, art and entertainment.
Benjamin Tassie and Liam Byrne
All Evening | Dulwich Pavilion
Join musicians Benjamin Tassie and Liam Byrne for an experimental Baroque remix. Benjamin Tassie is a multi-award-winning composer whose work has been performed at leading music and cultural institutions around the world. Liam Byrne divides his time between playing very old and very new music on the viol. In April 2015, Liam became the first musician to be awarded a 6-month Artist Residency at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum and beyond the realm of early music, he has worked with artists including Damon Albarn, Nils Frahm and Matthew Herbert.

Feel the itch to stitch? Join the Kingpin of Contemporary Embroidery, artist and designer Jamie "Mr X Stitch" for a drop-in cross stitch workshop, using pixelated patterns from the paintings in our Permanent Collection.
Baroque Treasure Hunt

Artist Nikki Gardham will be taking you on a Baroque Treasure Hunt throughout the evening. Come prepared for jewel coloured clues and collaborative collage making.

Take an alternative tour of the Gallery’s Permanent Collection with Assistant Curator Helen Hillyard to hear some surprising stories behind the masterpieces.
Dulwich Outdoor Gallery

You may have seen the many large artworks on the walls of Dulwich, but did you know they are based on the Old Masters from Dulwich Picture Gallery? Why not make your way to the Gallery via a street art walk, where you will learn about the contemporary street artists and the Baroque paintings they have been inspired by. If you'd like to join the tour, please note that it is ticketed separately to the Late - they can be purchased here.
