Awayday Art: Watts Gallery
Hosted at Dulwich Picture Gallery, the Awayday Art series introduces a range of small galleries, all within easy travelling distance of Dulwich.
George Frederic Watts, painter and sculptor, was famed for works such as Hope and Physical Energy as emblems of humanity’s modern condition. Watts Gallery, opened in 1905 in his house and village, is now a dynamic rural centre for art. It celebrates Watts and Victorian art and design, and offers an ambitious programme of art for all, reviving its founder’s belief that art can change lives for the better. With Nicholas Tromans, Brice Curator, Watts Gallery.
