Art and Life symposium
A lively day of debate and discussion around the current exhibition: Art and Life
The art historian Jovan Nicholson curated the exhibition and is the grandson of Ben and Winifred Nicholson; he will speak about Ben and Winifred Nicholson’s work, as well as discussing the reception of the exhibition and the questions it has raised. Sebastiano Barassi is Curator of Collections and Exhibitions at The Henry Moore Foundation, Perry Green, and will talk about Alfred Wallis; Julian Stair is a potter and writer, living and working in Dulwich, and will discuss the work of William Staite Murray. Nathaniel Hepburn, Director of Ditchling Museum, recently curated an exhibition about Christopher Wood and will talk about that artist’s work.
The symposium will conclude with an open discussion for audience and speakers.
Come and join the debate
The day includes entry to the exhibition and a private tour from 10am - 11am. Also included is morning coffee, a light lunch and access to the Gallery's Permanent Collection.
