InSight Lecture: The Medium of Modernism: Watercolour in America from Homer to Hopper

Book now

In the early 20th century watercolour painting was widely promoted in America as a dynamic and modern means of expression. Winslow Homer
became the father figure to a generation of watercolour painters, like Georgia O’Keeffe and Edward Hopper, better known for their later work. Others, such as John Marin and Charles Demuth, are still awaiting recognition in Britain.
