InSight Lecture: ‘My portrait in little’: 16th century portrait miniatures

Book Now

The miniature is among the most sophisticated products of C16 England. In contrast to the upright large-scale portraits, the miniature can be viewed in the hand, making it personal. This lecture will focus on the finest Tudor portrait miniaturists, including Hans Holbein II, Nicholas Hilliard and Isaac Oliver.

This lecture will be given by Karen Hearn, who was the Curator of 16th & 17th Century British Art at Tate Britain from 1992 to 2012. She is now an Honorary Professor at University College London.

Coffee will be served afterwards.
