Women Artists: Ordinary or Extraordinary?

Few women artists are known before the 19th century. And yet today's women artists have achieved equal prominence with men. Has their different path influenced their art? An author, an art curator and a painter trace the experience of women artists from the 16th century to the present.

The Director's Exhibition Lectures

Ian Dejardin, the Gallery’s Director gives a lecture about each of the Gallery’s exhibitions.

7 February : Agony and the Ecstasy: Guido Reni's Saint Sebastians
20 March : Coming of Age: American Art, 1850s - 1950s
9 July : Painting Family: The De Brays, Master Painters of 17th Century Holland

Lectures are held in the Linbury Room on a first come first served basis. They are free but there will be a collection at the end for which the suggested donation is £3.
