Our trustees
Dulwich Picture Gallery is governed by a board of trustees who work in a voluntary capacity and ensure the future sustainability of the gallery and delivery of its charitable objectives.

Dame Janet Vitmayer, DBE
Chair of Trustees
Janet worked in museums for over 40 years at national, regional and local level. She was CEO of the Horniman Museum and Gardens from 1999- 2018 where she led a series of successful capital developments and fundraising campaigns transforming the Horniman’s galleries, buildings and Gardens. Janet has served on many expert panels and boards and run seminars for the British Council and the British Museum in the UK and abroad. She is currently Chair of the Visual Arts Committee St Paul’s Cathedral. Janet was made a Dame in the 2018 Honours List for services to museums and diversity.

Benedict Brogan
Deputy Chair of Trustees; Chair of DPGE Board
Benedict is a Senior Adviser at Global Counsel. He had a long-standing career in political journalism, holding several senior positions, as Deputy Editor and Chief Political Commentator for The Daily Telegraph and as Political Editor for the Daily Mail. In 2015 he joined Lloyds Banking Group as Group Public Affairs Director. He remains a senior advisor to the Group and CEO.

Helen Macintyre
Chair of Collection and Programme Committee
Helen Macintyre has worked in the international art world for over 20 years. After graduating from the University of Edinburgh in 1996 with an MA (Hons) in History of Art, she worked for Old Master Dealers, Hall & Knight in London and New York and for the Client Advisory team at Christie’s before founding Macintyre Art Advisory in 2007. Helen has helped build a number of private, museum and corporate collections around the world.

Jonathan Card
Chair of Finance and Audit Committee
Jon a previous Chartered Accountant has spent much of his career within the museum and gallery sector. Jon's latest role was for the Imperial War Museums group where he was lucky to experience a wonderful 25 years, leaving as the Deputy Director-General. Jon volunteers for Macmillan Cancer and is a London tour guide, specialising in a range of music tours. He is also trustee of the Florence Nightingale Museum and a member of the Southwark Chamber Choir.

Adeola Gay
Adeola is the Senior Curatorial Manager at Artsy. An advocate for art and wellbeing, she serves as a Trustee of Hospital Rooms and is the creative mind behind The Other Art Girl. Before her role as a Graduate Trainee at Sotheby’s, Adeola pursued her studies in Culture, Criticism, and Curation, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Central Saint Martins. Adeola holds a Diploma in Communicative Chinese from SOAS, University of London. Passionate about amplifying the voices of underrepresented artists, Adeola is dedicated to making the magic of art accessible to wider audiences.

Cecil Quillen
Cecil is a partner in the law firm Linklaters LLP, having over 37 years’ experience in U.S.-facing corporate finance and capital markets. He is deeply interested in the visual and performing arts, the history of art and arts education. Cecil brings his expertise and experience in governance of non-profit and for-profit institutions to the Board. He is also a director of Lion Finance Group PLC, a trustee of the University of Virginia Law School Foundation and a trustee of the two principal trusts through which Harvard University conducts its U.K. fundraising.

Jane Lunnon
Jane Lunnon became the first female Head of Alleyn’s School in January 2021 after six years as Head of Wimbledon High School and as Senior Deputy at Wellington School from 2010-2014. Jane is a trustee of the Royal Springboard Foundation and chair and founder of the Coalition for Youth Mental Health in Schools. Jane sits on the Board of Governors for King Edward’s School, Witley, as well as serving as Co-Vice Chair of the GSA / HMC Joint Higher Education and Futures Committee. Jane also contributes to the Federation for Education.

John Cox
John leads Schroders’ ESG Advisory and Integration team which supports the 60+ investment teams Schroders has across its business to meet their sustainable investment objectives. John started his career as a Wealth Manager before moving to the UK Cabinet Office as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Cabinet Office’s Social Investment and Finance Team and the Department for International Development. Whilst at the Cabinet Office, John played an instrumental role in establishing the Arts Impact Fund. John has a BSc in Economic History from LSE and an MSc in Development Studies from SOAS, University of London.

Katy Wickremesinghe
Katy Wickremesinghe is a British-Sri Lankan entrepreneur, cultural commentator, and founder of The Wick - a global award-winning content platform and consultancy which aims to Connects the Culturally Curious™. Katy is a Trustee of the Royal Academy and serves on the advisory board of The Line, London’s first public art walk. Katy holds a History degree from Warwick University and a diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Sian Williams
Sian Williams is a chartered accountant with over 20 years’ experience in the museum sector. She previously held the position of Director of Finance and Resources at both Tate and the V&A as well as a non-executive role as a Trustee of Global Giving Ltd. Sian was Programme Director for The Science Museum Group’s large capital programme, the One Collection project.

Victoria Pinnington
Victoria is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Crystal Palace Park Trust, the charity responsible for the management and regeneration of one of London’s largest and most-loved urban parks and heritage attractions. Prior to joining the Trust in summer 2024, Victoria was Acting CEO of the Horniman Museum and Gardens and a member of its senior leadership team for over a decade. Victoria is a trustee of HOME, Manchester’s dynamic cultural centre offering art, film and theatre under one roof. She is also a trustee at Kids in Museums.
Our enterprise board
Dulwich Picture Gallery Enterprises Ltd (DPGE) runs the Gallery shop, DPGE runs the Gallery shop, is responsible for the commercial hire of Gallery space, and for handling the outsourced catering contract for the Gallery café. DPGE is supported by a Board of Directors which includes two external members as well as two Gallery Trustees, Director and Deputy Director.
