Adeola Gay, John Cox and Victoria Pinnington have been appointed as Trustees of Dulwich Picture Gallery by Chair of the Board, Dame Janet Vitmayer DBE. Dame Janet Vitmayer said: “Dulwich Picture Gallery was founded more than 200 years ago on the simple idea that great art is made for sharing. This spirit of generosity is embodied in the skill and time shared by our dedicated Board of Trustees. I am delighted to welcome Adeola, John and Victoria to our board. They bring specialist expertise to support the Gallery in the breadth of our work from audiences to investments and commercial activity.”

Adeola Gay is a London-based writer and currently holds the position of Senior Curatorial Manager at Artsy. An advocate for art and wellbeing, Adeola serves as a Trustee of Hospital Rooms. She also holds a Criticism and Curation Bachelor of Arts Degree from Central Saint Martins. She further holds a Diploma in Communicative Chinese from SOAS, University of London. John started his career as a Wealth Manager before moving to the UK Cabinet Office as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Cabinet Office’s Social Investment and Finance Team and the Department for International Development. Whilst at the Cabinet Office, John played an instrumental role in establishing the Arts Impact Fund, designed to stimulate and test the market for social investment in the arts and culture sector in England. Dulwich Picture Gallery
The Original Gallery Est. 1811

It started here with a simple idea – that great art is made for sharing. Which is why, over 200 years ago, Dulwich Picture Gallery opened its doors and became the world’s first purpose built public art gallery – a sanctuary in the city, dedicated to sharing one of the greatest art collections in the world, with the world. Like most good ideas, it caught on. And happily, we’re no longer the UK’s only public art gallery. Yet we remain dedicated to our mission of unlocking art for all. From historic paintings to contemporary sculpture, we’re committed to bringing art to life and life to art. Finding new and surprising ways for people to enjoy, appreciate, and be inspired by great art – inside and out.
