Italian Landscape with Bridge

Swanevelt spent most of his life in Rome and Paris, sharing a house with Claude in Rome from 1627-29. He and Claude developed along similar lines, one influencing the other, and their works are not always easy to separate. In 1644 he became Painter to the King of France.
