DPG334 may be a copy of a lost work by Potter of 1650, as suggested by the existance of two other versions of the same composition, neither of autograph quality; both recorded as bearing a signature and the date 1650 (La Broderie sale, Lucerne, 19 July 1927, lot 82, and Sotheby's, 18 November 1985, lot 12).
