James Allen (c.1682-1746): Warden of Dulwich College, 1712; Master, 1721; founder of James Allen's Girls' School. The signature was revealed in cleaning, 1988, and is confirmed by a payment in the College accounts. An inscription is recorded on the verso: This for The Right Honourable my Lady Pitsligo.
