Unless otherwise agreed, acceptance and acknowledgment of your donation to support a tree in The Lovington Sculpture Meadow’s Art Forest will be subject to the below terms and conditions.
1. We will engrave a dedication of your choice on a specially made tag.
2. The dedication will have a character limit applied including spaces, punctuation and text, this will be confirmed following your donation.
3. All engraved wording is subject to approval by Dulwich Picture Gallery. The Gallery reserves the right to reject any engraving for any reason at its sole discretion.
4. The labels will be placed on a tree within the agreed area. We cannot offer the chance to select a specific tree.
5. If you would like an additional tag on the same tree, this can be arranged at the cost of £60. We will try to accommodate all requests but cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.
6. Personalised tags will be installed in The Lovington Sculpture Meadow once it is open to the public.
7. The tags are intended to remain in the garden for a minimum period of 10 years from point of install and the Gallery will do its best to maintain and protect the tags.
8. Should the tree die in the first five years, the Gallery will replace the tree.
9. The Gallery reserves the right to remove the tag for repair at any time or remove the tag permanently after the expiry of the minimum 10-year period without any refund.
10. As the payment is a freely given donation, no refunds can be offered in any circumstances unless the donation is rejected by the Gallery.
11. After the 10-year period, the Gallery will be entitled to remove the tag unless the supporter provides a further donation which the Gallery acknowledges via the continued presence of the tag.
12. Following the 10-year period, if your tag is to be removed, the Gallery will contact you using your last known contact details and you will be given the opportunity to purchase a new commemoration at the Dulwich Picture Gallery’s future price for the scheme.
13. If you would like to have a tag to keep, in addition to the one on the tree, this can be organised for the additional cost of £20.
14. All tree tags remain the property of Dulwich Picture Gallery.
15. Should the tag become damaged, the Gallery will take all reasonable actions to arrange for a replacement. A maximum of two replacements is permitted in the 10-year period. Additional costs will be incurred by the purchaser should further replacements be required or requested.
16. Cleaning of the tags will not be undertaken by the Gallery, nor will visitors be permitted to clean their plaque without prior permission. Please contact the Fundraising team to obtain permission if required.
17. Once mounted, the location of your tag is fixed and will not be moved by the Gallery during the 10-year period unless damage is sustained and a replacement location sought.
18. The Gallery reserves the right to change the terms and conditions at any time. An updated copy will be sent to you should any changes occur.
19. Please note that each tree is a young tree and not fully grown when it is planted and while we strive to ensure all trees thrive, replacements may be necessary. We will only replace a tree once.
20. Location of tree tags will be allocated by the Gallery.
Support a tree FAQs
We are unable to permit the scattering of ashes without previous discussion and agreement. To discuss this please contact our team via email: development@dulwichpicturegallery.org.uk.
The Lovington Sculpture Meadow will be sewn with a variety of species rich and native flowers. We cannot permit the planting of additional flowers.
To protect the site, we don't allow any tributes, including flowers, to be left by the trees and we will have to remove any we find.
In the unlikely event that the tree should die within the first five years of being planted, the Gallery will replace the tree free of charge.
After 10 years the tags may be taken down or replaced. However, if this is the case we will give the existing donor the first opportunity to replace the tag by renewing support.
The tree will be approximately 1.5 metres when it is planted.
The Lovington Sculpture Garden is free to all to access during the Gallery’s public opening hours. Access outside of this time will need to be arranged in advance with the Gallery team.
