Explore the Gallery’s paintings and create your own masterpiece in these interactive workshops. Each session includes a visit to the Gallery and messy art-making session. Our themes change monthly to keep your little creatives engaged. Scroll down to see our upcoming sessions.
Suggested age: Sitting – 24 months
Please note there will be no sessions in August, and that they will begin again at the end of September.
- We strongly recommend that you dress your children for messy play or bring a change of clothes. You may have quite a messy baby by the end of our artmaking session! We do provide wet wipes, and have toilets nearby to help clean up you little creative at the end of the workshop.
- All of the materials we work with are non-toxic and safe to put in mouths. Our ‘baby paint’ is made from cornflour, water and food colouring. Please do get in touch with us in advance if your baby has any allergies and we will provide an alternative.
Your comfort is our priority. Please do feel free to contact our Family Programme Manager, Rachel Prosser, with any queries or concerns.

Today we got up at silly o'clock to make it down to SE21 in time for @dulwichgallery's brilliant #minimasterpieces class for under-2s. Bab was sick all over herself, me and the woman sitting next to us on the tube on the way there and we arrived smelling of regurgitated Ready Brek but somehow none of that mattered once we were inside the beautiful gallery, gawking at portraits before creating our own mini masterpiece - or giant mess, depending on your outlook.
