Family Festival: Love Your Landscape

Spend a day at the Gallery exploring nature, inspired by the world of Harald Sohlberg: Painting Norway. Build a flower field, craft a fabric patch, explore our grounds and much more! Explore the sessions in detail below.

Flower Power

10am–5pm, Gallery 4 (drop in)
Taking inspiration from Sohlberg’s painting Flower Meadow in the North, craft your own flower to add to the field we’ll be ‘growing’ in the Gallery across the day.

Picturesque Patches

10am–5pm, Gallery 2 (drop in)
Join Andrew and Emma from Miscellaneous Adventures to learn how to make your own fabric patches inspired by Sohlberg’s bright colours. Weave away and then wear it with pride.

Treetastic

10am–5pm, Sackler Centre (drop in)
One of Sohlberg’s trademarks was the way he painted trees against the sky. Join Jennie Webber from Wild Life Drawing for some messy ink blowing to make your own tree patterns against paper.

Start with a Seed

10am–5pm, Linbury Room (drop in)
Join Global Generation, expert gardeners and creators of The Skip Garden at King’s Cross, to make your own seed bomb to take home and brighten up your garden.

Outdoor Adventure

Hourly from 11am–4pm, Linbury Room (first-come, first-served)
Join Global Generation for a sensory walk looking, touching, smelling and listening your way through the Gallery grounds. Places on walks are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please meet in the Linbury Room for the beginning of the walk.

Collage Crowns

10am–5pm, Linbury Room (drop in)
Collecting natural materials from the Gallery grounds such as leaves and twigs collage yourself a crown.
