Tove Jansson: An Intimate Portrait

Enjoy a special evening exploring Tove Jansson’s life at home and on her travels.

Enjoy an exclusive reading of extracts from the soon-to-be-published Letters from Tove, a collection of Jansson’s personal letters that will be shared for the first time.

Travel through Europe and to Jansson’s rocky island, Klovharu, through two intimate home movies, presented by queer feminist collective, Club des Femmes. Tove and Tooti in Europe and Haru: Island of the Solitary were both shot on a silent Super 8 camera and show Jansson and her partner Tuulikki Pietilä making their lives together abroad and at home.

In a not-to-be-missed talk, learn more about Jansson’s life from her niece, Sophia Jansson and Nicolette Jones, children’s books editor at The Sunday Times.

Together, the evening’s line-up will offer an intimate, charming, often-hilarious and off-the-cuff portrait of lives entwined in art and love.
