Having unearthed the hidden wirings of British politics as a journalist and academic, Lord Hennessy, a professor at Queen Mary University, will be drawing on his experience to discuss the country in its global context.

About the speaker: Peter Lord Hennessy

As a journalist for over 20 years, with spells on The Times, The Financial Times and The Economist, Lord Hennessy unearthed the hidden wiring of the constitution and the British government, themes which have been at the heart of his research and teaching since moving from journalism to teaching at Queen Mary University. As well as producing several publications on contemporary British History, including the Orwell Prize-winning Having It So Good: Britain in the 1950s, Lord Hennessy regularly appears on mainstream radio and television news and current affairs programmes and is a Fellow of the British Academy.
