Competition entry now closed.

To celebrate our upcoming exhibition, Portrait of a City: A Century of American Photography (28 Jul – 4 Oct 2026), we are inviting you to share an image that captures what the city means to you for the chance to become part of our forthcoming exhibition.

Two winning photographs will be professionally printed, framed and exhibited in the Gallery during the show. Both winners will also be invited to the exhibition opening reception and receive four complimentary tickets to visit the Gallery.

Entering is simple. Send us a photograph that reflects your own perspective on the city. Whether it captures its energy, beauty, people, contrasts or everyday moments, we want to see what the city means to you.

A judging panel will select one overall winner, the Judge’s Winner, along with a shortlist of finalists. The shortlisted entries will then go to a public vote to decide the People’s Choice Winner. Together, these two entries will become the competition winners.

Our judging panel includes Jennifer Scott (Director, Dulwich Picture Gallery), Anders Bjørnsen (Manager, Art and Culture, Savings Bank Foundation DNB, Norway), and Alexander Moore (Exhibition Curator).

Cast your vote on our shortlisted entries

Below you will find the judges' 10 shortlisted entries. Choose your favourite and cast your vote! Voting closes Sunday 28 June at 23:59.
