Saint Sebastian
Surviving his arrow wounds (see Reni DPG268), Saint Sebastian is tended by Irene, widow of Saint Castulus, who had come to bury him but found him still alive. He is supported by an allegorical figure with a cross and chalice, representing Faith. Magnani proposes a date of 1716/18. An earlier version of the same subject by Bellucci is in the Hermitage, St Petersburg.
