Madonna

DPG259 was inventoried in 1813 as Sacchi and is probably the 'fine female head by Carlo Maratti' admired by Hazlitt. The picture has been catalogued since 1880 as 'School of Albani'. C. Puglisi (correspondence on file, 1997) suggests that the style is closer to Maratti.
