Rob & Nick Carter Limited Edition Print

Artist duo Rob & Nick Carter have generously created a limited edition print which will be available from our shop.

Print sales will support Open Art, our upcoming development project that will see the Gardens transformed with a new children's play space, a Sculpture Garden, and environmental improvements across the site.

The print, inspired by our collection, is part of their Dutch Golden Age seriesUsing 'Still life with Crayfish' by a follower of Jan Pauwel Gillemans the Elder they have extracted the peeled lemon from the bottom right hand corner, manipulated it with digital technology to enhance the colour and isolated it in a single print.

Rob and Nick Carter said: "Our preoccupation with the Dutch Golden Age series primarily lies in the interest with the boundaries between the real and the imagined, the analogue and the digital, and the traditional and the contemporary.

The idea was to pluck a fruit from an existing piece in the DPG collection, and the result would be a work that transforms an existing moment in art history with digital manipulation and presentation in analogue format on print, to facilitate a return to the art of sustained and deep looking."

The print has a limited edition run of 95, and retails at £1,100 + VAT unframed and £1,300 + VAT framed. £1,000 from each sale will go directly to the Gallery in support of the Open Art project. They will be available from our shop soon!
