2010 Display: Horace Walpole

23 March - 4 July 2010

Two paintings at Dulwich Picture Gallery - Sir Peter Lely’s A boy as a Shepherd and Charles Jervas’s Dorothy, Viscountess Townshend - were once part of Horace Walpole’s important collection displayed at his pioneering Gothic Revival villa, Stawberry Hill. To coincide with the Horace Walpole exhibition at the V&A these magnificent portraits have been restored. This display offers the opportunity to see the paintings in their improved condition and discover more about their place in Walpole’s collection.
