2011: Masterpiece a Month

The Gallery celebrates its 200th year with an astonishing international loan exhibition. Masterpiece A Month: Presiding Genius will feature a loan masterpiece every month in star position at the end of the Gallery’s enfilade. These paintings will be borrowed from major institutions with which Dulwich has a special relationship, and in many cases will have a historic link of some kind with the Gallery.

March: Johannes Vermeer, The Music Lesson (The Royal Collection, London)
April: El Greco, The Vision of St John (The Metropolitan Museum, New York)
May: Veronese, Venus and Mercury present Eros and Anteros to Jupiter (The Uffizi, Florence)
June: Rembrandt, Titus as a Monk (The Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam)
July: Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres, Comtesse d’Haussonville (The Frick Collection, New York)
August: Vincent Van Gogh: Self Portrait with Felt Hat (The Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam)
September: Thomas Gainsborough: Mrs Sheridan (National Gallery of Art, Washington DC)
October: John Constable, The Leaping Horse (Royal Academy of Arts, London)
November: David Hockney: Mr and Mrs Clark and Percy (Tate, London)
December: Domenichino, The Adoration of the Shepherds (National Gallery of Scotland, Edinburgh)
