There are few Dutch landscape painters whose working methods can be reconstructed as precisely as those of Adriaen van de Velde, whose many preparatory drawings provide a fascinating insight into the genesis of his works. The lecture provides an opportunity to look over the shoulder of a Dutch landscape painter at work.
