Boy with a Goldfinch and its Nest in a Bird-Pot

Gudlaugsson's attribution to De Moor (on photograph mount, Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie, The Hague) is supported by the presence of a De Moor signature on a comparable child study of a boy playing with a puppy, in which the model appears to be the same (sold Sotheby's Colonnade, 16/19 March 1993, lot 99).
