Creation of Eve

The subject is from Genesis II, 21-2. The picture was catalogued as Procaccini until 1880, when Richter suggested the attribution to Nuvolone. Works by Nuvolone are rare in this country, though common enough in Northern Italy. The painting was damaged during a radical 19th-century restoration.
