A Neapolitan Woman

Dürck was a pupil in Leipzig of Schnorr von Carolsfeld and studied at the Munich Academy 1824-9. After a trip to Italy in 1836-7 he settled in Munich, working as a portrait painter. As such, he was called to the courts of Sweden and Austria - and later specialised in genre subjects and scenes of children.
