Past Participation Projects

Connections

Connections was a yearly project working with older people with early-stage dementia and their primary carers. Participants are referred onto the programme by local dementia support workers and take part in monthly creative workshops over a six month period. The project aims to support participants to build confidence to take part in creative activities and wider programmes within the community, it uses meaningful art engagement to focus on what each person can do and not what they have lost. Adults living with dementia and their carers are equal participants throughout the project.

pARTners

A collaborative project between Dulwich Picture Gallery and older adults with dementia, dementia carers and volunteers and community stakeholders. The working group informs and designs training, resources and programming which aims to support Dulwich Picture Gallery with its aim to become a Dementia Friendly Gallery. Project participants will be recruited from the other strands of this project.

Visual to Vocal

Visual to Vocal was a fun and stimulating project that combined art and singing aimed to benefit those with early to mid-stage dementia. This collaborative project with English Touring Opera encouraged those involved and their carers to compose a song cycle over 8 weeks inspired by the Gallery's Old Master paintings.
