Life Drawing: Shibari with London Drawing

Book now

Try your hand at something new with London Drawing this summer.

This intimate and immersive drawing experience responds to ‘Shibari’ an ancient Japanese artistic form of rope tying in which the life model will be engaged with floor-based Shibari ropes.

In Japanese, “Shibari” simply means “to tie”. The contemporary meaning of Shibari describes an ancient Japanese artistic form of rope tying. Shibari style rigging creates geometric patterns and shapes with rope that contrast beautifully with the body’s flesh.

Join for a chance to observe the incredibly close relationship between model and rigger, the physical and emotional experience of the model, the sensuality, vulnerability and strength of the manipulated body and the sheer physicality of the body entwined in rope.

A truly beautiful and unforgettable evening of drawing.
