Family Festival - Mark Makers

Get creative as a family this summer and become your own Mark Makers, inspired by the trailblazing Impressionist Berthe Morisot. 

Explore the radical techniques Morisot used to create her paintings and discover how radical art making techniques are used today. Workshops will include painting outdoors, exploration of colour and light and capturing the everyday. We can ALL be artists.

Wonderful Weaving Quiet Space– Daisy Porter 
In the Linbury Room
10:00am-4:00pm

Explore colour and textures in this quieter space with a relaxed approach to noise and movement, you are free to enter and exit as needed. A chill-out space and noise-cancelling headphones are also available for both adults and children In the Linbury Room. 

Wonderful Weaving Quiet Space Relaxed Morning, 10:00-11:00am

The Wonderful Weaving Room will be available for a relaxed opening from 10.00-11.00. This relaxed session is suitable for any family who would like to visit the festival at a quieter time. To book a space please email learning@dulwichpicturegallery.org.uk

Mark Makers / Treasure Hunt with Mhairi Mcghee & Alex Bowie

Come to the magic tree trunks for a mark-making extravaganza. Inspired by Morisot's love of mirrors, cake and water, you will journey through the trees, taking part in challenges as you go.

Working with sticky tapes, come and explore how you can use tape to make collages by following principles of play and exploration.

Taking inspiration from the mirrors seen in Morisot’s portraits we will use mirrors to create our own portraits.
