This lecture discusses the British Museum’s autumn exhibition. It tells the long story of South Africa, beginning with some of the artworks of the cradle of humankind, and ending with work of living artists. This exhibition is unique in its placement of contemporary South African art alongside historic works, a process which places the past and present in dialogue.

Lecturer: Dr John Giblin, Curator, Head of Africa, British Museum.

The exhibition at the British Museum runs from 27 October 2016 - 26 February 2017.
