Towards Abstraction: Frankenthaler, Monet and the Old Masters
Join Jennifer Scott in this revealing talk exploring our special Monet x Frankenthaler display in Gallery 12, featuring Claude Monet’s Water Lilies and Agapanthus (1914-17) and Helen Frankenthaler’s Feather (1973). By comparing these two masterpieces, set within the context of the Gallery’s Old Master paintings, prepare to discover the colourful, inventive, and evocative road to abstraction.
There will be a Q&A session at the end of the conversation for public questions.
