Soulscapes, is a major exhibition of contemporary landscape art that will expand and redefine the genre. Featuring more than 30 works, the artworks span painting, photography, film, tapestry and collage from leading artists including Hurvin Anderson, Phoebe Boswell, Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Kimathi Donkor, Isaac Julien, Marcia Michael, Mónica de Miranda and Alberta Whittle, as well as some of the most important emerging voices working today.
About Lisa Anderson
Lisa Anderson is the Managing Director of Black Cultural Archives, a national heritage centre dedicated to the collection, preservation, and celebration of Black history for over 40 years. She is also an independent curator, consultant, and champion for African Diaspora art, particularly in the UK. In 2015 she founded a curatorial platform @blackbritishart dedicated to celebrating and promoting the breadth of art practice by Black artists in Britain. In 2016 she was selected as one of ten participants to participate in the International Curator’s Forum ‘Beyond the Frame’ curator development programme in association with the first ever Diaspora Pavilion for the 2017 Venice Biennale.
In 2019 she established Lisa Anderson Art Advisory to advise collectors with a special interest in Black British Art. She has curated shows for Latham and Watkins, Signature Art Gallery, and Black Shade Projects in association with 1:54 Marrakech 2020. She is on the advisory boards of Addis Fine Art and Uchenna Dance.
