Facebook Live with Helen Hillyard: Tiepolo
Join Assistant Curator Helen Hillyard for a special out-of-hours Facebook Live tour of our current display: Rediscover: Tiepolo's 'Joseph Receiving Pharaoh's Ring'
Giovanni Battista Tiepolo (1696–1770) was amongst the most important painters in 18th-century Venice, achieving international fame within his lifetime. Since 2016, this painting has been the focus of a major conservation project to restore Tiepolo’s work to its original brilliance. With the help of X-rays, this display explores the changes the artist made during the course of its production.
The display is on until 3 June. Click here to learn more.
The conservation and display of this painting was made possible by Lesley and Dennis Robins.
This project was made possible with a Jonathan Ruffer Curatorial Research Grant from Art Fund.
