Celebrating 70 years of the Friends
To celebrate 70 years of Friendship, in 2024 we are hosting a number of exclusive Friends events, including special lectures, tours, an art competition and more.
About the Friends
In 1954, following the damage of the war years, the governors of what was then the Dulwich College Picture Gallery appealed to anyone interested in the Gallery’s welfare to make a donation. As thanks, they were invited to an annual garden party. This was the birth of the Friends. From that day to onwards, the Friends have been the guardian angels of the world’s first purpose-built public art gallery.
The Gallery would not be here without our Friends.
