From the Collection: The Aftermath of Violence
Join Jennifer Scott, the Sackler Director of Dulwich Picture Gallery, for a journey through shock, grief, acceptance and healing in masterpieces from our Collection by Rubens, Van Dyck, Poussin and Carlo Dolci. Ribera: Art of Violence presents extraordinary images of physical pain, but in this talk we’ll explore how Ribera’s contemporaries and successors have depicted what comes after the violence.
Prior to joining Dulwich Picture Gallery Jennifer Scott was director of The Holburne Museum in Bath, and Curator of Paintings at Royal Collection Trust. She is the author of numerous publications, including The Royal Portrait: Image and Impact (2010); Dutch Landscapes (2010) and Bruegel to Rubens: Masters of Flemish Painting (2007).
